Dr. Jansen Johnson

Dr. Jansen Johnson is a clinical fellow in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery at McMaster University.  He was born and grew up in The Bahamas. After completing high school he went on to pursue undergraduate studies in Biology with chemistry at the College of the Bahamas and completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of the West Indies in 2009 during which he received honors for the most outstanding student of his class.

 He went on to study orthopedic surgery at the University of the West Indies again which was completed in 2019.  Dr. Johnson believes in treating patients with respect and kindness and is looking forward to gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience during his fellowship training.

 Dr. Johnson is a fan of American football and track and field and enjoys nature hikes.  Upon completed this fellowship, he plans to return home to The Bahamas to support and further develop sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery there.

Dr. Dana Alomran

Dr. Dana Alomran is a Bahraini orthopedic surgeon, currently employed by Bahrain Defense Force Hospital. She attended the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Bahrain from 2005-2011 and graduated  with a bachelor degree in medicine (MB, BCh, BAO).

 

After her internship year, Dr. Alomran applied to the orthopedic department at Bahrain Force hospital, where she started working in 2012.  She later got accepted into the Saudi Board orthopedics residency training program in the eastern province, and received her Saudi board certification in orthopedic surgery in 2019. Dr. Alomran then spent the next 3 years working as a senior resident in BDF hospital, during which she developed her interest in pediatric orthopedics.

 

Dr. Alomran got accepted into McMaster Pediatric Orthopedics fellowship program in 2022, and has recently completed her fellowship training and got certified.

 

Dr. Alomran is currently on her second fellowship at McMaster specializing in Hip preservation and pediatric sports medicine.

Dr. Yoan Borgeault-Gagnon

Dr. Bourgeault-Gagnon is a clinical and research fellow in Hip Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Fellowship at McMaster University. He was born and grew up in Quebec, Canada. Dr. Bourgeault-Gagnon completed his medical degree (MD) and postgraduate studies in orthopedic surgery at Sherbrooke University. Following his residency, he pursued further specialization in hip and knee surgery through a fellowship at the North Sydney Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center.

 

He has demonstrated a special interest in patient education and empowerment projects. He received a Certificate of Recognition for Professional Engagement in recognition of his role in creating an orthopedic and musculoskeletal rehabilitation website for the Estrie population. He is also a co-director of a team of physiotherapy students for their professional master's project, who are working on reviews of post-operative rehabilitation protocols. His main research focus is on hip and knee preservation surgery.
